Linwood Inclusive Playground
Room for every way to play.
Linwood Elementary’s playground is public, and it belongs to the whole community. We’re Linwood parents raising money so every kid can get on it and play, together. Phase one adds two adaptive pieces of equipment by the 2027 school year. Phase two builds a new inclusive playground by 2028.
It belongs to the whole community
This is a public playground. It is for the students who play there every day, and it is for everyone else who comes through. When it works for every kid, it works for every family.
Every kid deserves a way in.
Not a spot on the sidelines, but a real way onto the playground and into the game.
What we believe
Play is how kids make friends.
When every kid can play, every kid gets the chance to belong.
A public playground should work for the whole community.
Kids, parents, grandparents and neighbors.
Good design helps everyone.
Ramps, smooth ground and adaptive equipment make the playground better for all kids.
Two phases, one playground
Phase one
Two new adaptive pieces of equipment
We add two pieces of adaptive equipment to the playground by next school year so more kids can play right away.
Goal: New equipment added to the existing playground by the 2027 school year
Phase two
A new inclusive playground
A playground designed from the ground up so kids of every ability play side by side, and the whole community can join them.
Goal: New inclusive playground installed by the 2028 school year
Phase one is the first step toward phase two. Every gift counts toward both.
Help us build it
Give what feels right. Every gift moves the tracker, and every share helps someone new find it.
Where we are

What is an inclusive playground?
An inclusive playground lets all kids play and enjoy it, together.
Inclusive
The whole playground is designed so kids of every ability can play side by side. Everyone gets a way in, a way around and something fun to do when they get there.
Adaptive
Adaptive equipment is built so more kids can use it. It is for all kids to play on, not only disabled kids. If you have ever spun on something just because it was fun, you already get it.
Accessible
Ramps and firm, smooth ground let wheels, walkers and strollers get all the way in. Getting there and getting on comes first.
Is adaptive equipment only for disabled kids?
No. It is for everyone. Kids who love to spin, kids who are afraid of heights, kids who would rather stay close to the ground and kids who love sensory play all find something to do.
Who is a playground for?
Kids first, and the parents, grandparents and neighbors who come with them. Grown-ups push swings and catch kids at the bottom of the slide too, and some of them need a way in as well.
Why does this matter so much?
Play is where kids make friends. A kid who cannot get onto the playground ends up watching from the sidelines while their friends play. We would rather everyone be in the middle of it.

Any amount moves us closer to phase one.

Become a sponsor
Put your name on a place the whole neighborhood plays. Local businesses, clubs, churches and community groups help make this happen. It is a public playground, so your support is thanked out loud in a place the whole community uses, and it helps build somewhere every kid gets to play.

Some of the best help is not money. Pick the track that fits you, or do both
Help us raise the money
Share the campaign with your networks. It is the biggest help there is.
Host a small fundraiser, like a bake sale, a restaurant night or a neighborhood yard sale. Tell us your idea.
Reach out to a local business you love about sponsoring.
Run a table or lend a hand at an event.
Lend a skill: writing, photos, video, design, grant research or spreadsheets
Help us build it
When the equipment is ready to go in, we will need people. What volunteers can do depends on what the installer and the playground's owner allow, so we will share roles and dates as soon as we have them.
Site prep, moving materials and tidying up
Keeping the crew fed and watered
Greeting volunteers and keeping everyone signed in
Watching kids so other volunteers can work
Taking photos for the update feed
Share it with your networks
Most of this happens because someone told someone. One share can reach a donor, a sponsor or a volunteer we would never find on our own.
Send it to one person
A text to a neighbor, a friend or a grandparent is the easiest start.
Post it where your people are
A neighborhood group, a parent group, a church or club newsletter, your workplace.
Ask a business you love
Your dentist, your coffee shop, your employer. A personal ask from a customer lands differently.
